Meet Mrs. Corbin |

I am indeed honored to be your teacher. Since I know a little bit about you, let me tell you a bit about me. Originally from a small town just west of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I am an avid Steeler, Pirate, and Penguin fan. Obviously, I love sports, though I can only play golf these days. I earned my bachelor's degree in Communications from Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania and an MSed. in Teaching with Technology from Kaplan University. Currently I am working on my Educational Specialist degree in Gifted Education...so I am a student, too. My teaching career began at the high school from which I graduated, Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, PA. Starting out teaching advanced classes, I had to gain my competence and confidence early on. It was in these early years, I rediscovered my love of theatre. When the traditional senior musical was going to be abandoned, I stepped up and took it on. I was hooked. Unfortunately, I directed only two shows before leaving the teaching profession. Unable to teach for several years because of moves all over the country, I finally had the opportunity to teach again. It was a dream come true. Teaching drama, speech, AP Literature, media studies, and American Literature was a challenge and a delight. I spent 18 years teaching in Ohio before heading south. Basking in the sun and humidity of the Florida and Georgia landscape, Mr. Corbin (whose room is just down the hall!) and I landed in Macon...you know the rest... |
